The first in a number of collaborative 4 track releases, hoping to forge unique and interesting productions from some of our favorite up-and- coming artists.

Launching this series, Bristol native and head honcho of the Softcore imprint, Portway goes head-to-head with Aussie 140 maestro Ape Suit creating a dark, bass heavy energy.

Portway opens up with electro-influenced ‘Swanee’, a tune driven by swirling synth distortion that surrounds a haunting atmospheric breakdown. Ape Suit’s punchy, industrial stepper ‘Mistaken Identity’ wouldn’t feel out of place on dBridge’s ‘Exit’ label and highlights the producer's skill for heavy bassline manipulation.

Moving over to the remix side of the release, Ape Suit’s ‘Swanee’ flip takes the groove down to half time level, switching the aquatic electro synths for the lurch and growl of dubstep. Portway’s ‘Mistaken Identity’ remix is a bombastic closer, with booming trap-style 808s combined with footwork’s signature fluttering hats.
