On the slate for the third release on excess, self proclaimed ‘knob twister and button masher’ Sickarone joins us, bringing his signature analogue grooves to the label (alongside a weighty UK techno flip from Swamp 81’s Kahter). A-Side “Not a Straight Line” plays out like a slowed & verbed footwork track, powered by punchy drum machine claps and hats above a ghostly bassline.
For the B-Side, Kahter adds layers of rattling percussion and amps up the bass for an electro-infused UK techno cut that has been road-tested on some serious sound systems.
Recorded during a trip back to his hometown of Dhaka, Bangladesh, on “Chokkor,” Enayet pits split-second synths against wild rhythms. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 21, 2021
